The demands of ambulatory EEG require some special solutions; the Lifelines team has spent the time needed to develop an enhanced device that meets these needs better than any other. This can be seen in the small details as well as the overall specification of the system.

Trackit's solid aluminum case provides superior noise shielding and a robust resistance from the daily battering that AEEG devices routinely suffer. The device is acetone-proof to protect against chemicals used in the lab; it is also water-resistant to protect against spills and occasional incontinence that may occur in patients with epilepsy. Weighing less than one pound with batteries and memory card installed, this small recorder is also ideal for pediatric recordings.

The Trackit has amplification and digitization circuits equal to, or better than, most laboratory-based digital EEG systems. High sampling rates (256Hz for normal recordings) combined with up to either 24 or 36 channels allow for high-quality recordings that are comparable to standard EEG lab recordings. This is in direct contrast to many of the other ambulatory systems which make you choose between fewer channels or lower sampling rates simply to achieve a 24-hour recording time. Trackit can record continuously for as long as 96 hours without the need for the patient to change batteries or memory card. No other system can offer this level of performance!
The Trackit has a clock that is very visible for patients to use when documenting timed events in their written AEEG diary. Event buttons are easily accessible so that the patient can digitally mark the recording with ease. Trackit uses ordinary EEG electrodes that you already have in the lab. Some ambulatory EEG systems on the market use proprietary electrode connections that are both expensive and difficult to replace. This practical solution of using standard electrodes is most beneficial when recording a routine EEG study using your lab’s EEG system followed immediately by an AEEG study.
