Epilepsy Day at Disneyland
Lifelines is proud to be a major sponsor of Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland, which was held Nov. 6 - 8. The event was founded by parents Brad and Candy Levy as a grateful thank you to their daughter Sofie's team of doctors and as a way to build awareness for epilepsy. Now seizure free, Sofie has inspired her family to be advocates for epilepsy diagnosis, treatment and research efforts.
Mark Porter, Jose Molina, and Melissa Burke attended representing Lifelines’ West Coast team and Brendon Hutton and Beth Thompson of the Troy, IL headquarters attended to assist with educational speakers. Melissa and Jose staffed the “Ask The Expert” booth, where they supplied expert advice about the various methods of seizure monitoring.
The Lifelines' booth provided games for children (and parents) to play with lots of prizes to win. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, one of the girls attending said, “I want to be the person that works with the wires.” She pointed to her head and said, “The person that puts the wires on heads.” She wants to be an EEG technologist. That sums everything up – Lifelines is changing lives with neurodiagnostic innovation.
