Overview

The document control specialist position collects, maintains and distributes all documents necessary to define and control product design, development activities, and manufacturing processes. Develops and maintains a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the document control center; manages the operation of the document control center to ensure that all users have the latest revision of appropriate documentation in a timely manner. Coordinates with engineers to document revisions according to Quality System Procedures. This may be a contracted, part-time, or full-time position. 

 

Responsibilities

Collect and maintain documentation necessary to define and control product design, development activities, and manufacturing processes. 

Lead meetings to ensure engineering complies with Documentation Control procedures.

Distribute latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users.

Maintain electronic documentation databases.

Perform clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary.

Generate, monitor, and track Engineering Change Requests.

Create and maintain physical files and archived (e.g., PDF format) digital backup files.

Draft basic documentation such as Spec Sheets from provided materials for engineering review.

Work with management and engineers to provide controlled documents for review and to schedule timely releases of documentation.

Assist in the development of company SOP's 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Assist with internal audits. 

Skill Requirements

1-3 years of related experience (college degree may be substituted for experience).

Preferred Education and Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

Detail oriented, strong communication and organization skill.

Microsoft Office Suite, including Google Docs/Sheets

Independent Project Management

JIRA/Confluence Project Management Tools desired

Compensation

$40,000-$55,000
