Position: Epileptologist Central Reader
Job Type: Temporary/Contract/Project

Lifelines Neuro Company’s Clinical Trials Division is offering contract positions for highly-qualified adult, pediatric and neonatal epileptologists to act as Central Readers for existing and upcoming clinical trial projects.

Lifelines Neuro Clinical Trials division delivers expert turnkey service for pharmaceutical, therapeutic devices, and other research trials around the globe requiring EEG protocol. With extensive neurodiagnostic experience, a dedicated support staff, and widespread access to physicians and registered EEG technologists, we are the global leader in cloud-based EEG for clinical trials requiring brain monitoring.

The Lifelines Central Reader is responsible for reading, interpreting, and providing reports on blinded EEG studies for ongoing clinical research trials. The reports will be done according to the protocol outlined by the sponsor. It is expected that the Central Reader be able to interpret and provide a report within 72 hours of assignment.

Clinical research studies are ongoing but can be intermittent in nature. The length of the EEG varies greatly and can range from the typical 20-minute recording to 120+ hours in length. Video may or may not be present based on the study protocol. EEGs may be performed on several types/manufacturer’s equipment with review completed via Persyst, Stratus EEG, or Lifelines Neuro’s Rendr Platform.

Lifelines Neuro Company’s core Clinical Trial services include Video-EEG recording systems coupled to highly secure cloud-based servers. We provide live, on-line technical oversight of all recordings performed by registered EEG technologists, custom EEG consumable packages, custom reporting, and project management as well as full-blinded central review services. The registered EEG techs also perform review and annotate the data according to protocol, prior to assigning it to the Central Reader.

Skill Requirements

  • Board certification in Neurology
  • Board certification in Epilepsy
  • Access to high-speed internet for cloud review of the EEG data
  • HIPAA-compliant secure area in which to review the EEG data
  • Training and/or certifications in HIPAA, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation-European Union) to ensure compliance with protected health information. Lifelines Neuro can assist in obtaining these certificates.

Additional qualifications:

  • Published author of neurology research and articles
  • Experience as a primary investigator in a clinical trial

This position is a contracted/consultant position and does not offer employee benefits. Compensation is in accordance to the accepted Central Reader market rates. Compensation will vary based on the length and type of recording.

Participation in clinical trials requires commitments of 2-4 years based on protocol, to eliminate inter-reader variability.
